This blog post has been a long time coming. I think this session actually took place around this time last year?! Crazy how fast time flies. My friend Lexia Frank is such a talented film photographer and is putting together a book for other photographers, or just anyone who wants to learn more about film photography. She needed a few subjects to photograph for a few of her lessons, which is where I came in. :) I love all of the different levels of lighting she used in these photos. So interesting and unique! Thanks for including me Lexia, I love your work!
Mt. Hood Organic Farms continues to amaze me. It's one of my favorite wedding venues here in Oregon! Hannah and Jeremy's wedding took place at Mt. Hood Organic Farms last August and I was truly so lucky to place a small role in making their day beautiful and special.
Summer in Oregon offers so many beautiful blooms, we had such a bounty of flowers to choose from for their soft, pastel palette. You will see garden roses, scabiosa, dahlias, pee gee hydrangea, foxglove, and many more. I really enjoyed working with this muted, summer palette.
Make sure to watch their feature film at the end of this post, We Are Moving Pictures captured their day so well!

When Olivia and Eric first reached out to me they mentioned that they were getting married at Mt. Hood Organic Farms and that they loved bright, summer colors; can you imagine my excitement? A lot of couples have been sticking with a more neutral palette of whites, greens, and blush lately, which I love, but it's so nice to break out and go bold every now and then too. Plus, I love Mt. Hood Organic Farms!
O & E also contracted me to do some flat styling for their big day. They ended up enlarging a print I designed and used it near their ceremony entrance, which was so flattering and exciting to see. I also designed all of the table numbers the same way. You can view the photos below to see the flat styling I did for them in their initials using fruit and flowers. Such a fun little project!
Since their color palette was "all colors" we ended up going all over the spectrum. Olivia wanted a nice mix of lighter shades, and brighter ones too, to contrast. Here bridesmaids wore soft, pastel shades, so we kept their bouquets soft. Meanwhile, Olivia's bouquet was a mix of pastel and pops of deep and bright colors. Some of the flowers used were dahlias, clematis, zinnias, garden roses, poppies and more!
Congrats again to Olivia and Eric! :)
Where to begin with this winter wedding celebration? Anna and Ryan are some of the coolest people. Each of them have their own fun and cool personality, which makes them both a joy to be around. Another neat thing was how laid back they were about their wedding! Anna totally let me have creative control of the flowers, with only one request - that her bouquet have a large, gold succulent in it. Done and done! Each of their friends played a huge part of their day too, one even made over 20 mini naked cakes. These were for each of the tables, we decorated them with fresh florals too!
I'm slowly figuring out that the neutral palette of white and green is pretty much my favorite. I love the simplicity of it and how clean it looks, with everything! Since their wedding took place in November, we had a lot of wintry greens, berries and textures. My favorite of the flowers we used are the anemones, such show stoppers on their own. Everything about this day glowed, I'm so happy with how everything worked out. :)
A & R's wedding was also featured on Style Me Pretty, which we are all so grateful for. Thank you to SMP for the beautiful feature!

This botanical and organic inspired wedding was another favorite from last fall. Christina and Howard were one of the sweetest couples and had such a unique and special vision for their wedding day. What a joy to work with couples like them!
Their ceremony took place at Bond Chapel, on the University of Chicago's campus, with their reception following at The Kitchen Chicago. At the time, The Kitchen was a brand new restaurant and we were the first wedding they hosted. :)
Everything about their celebration was carefully planned and thought through, including their flowers. I loved using local Midwestern dahlias, garden roses, a mix of foliages and much more to create their fall, botanical look.
Christina and Howard's wedding day was featured on Style Me Pretty and Carats and Cake, too! On top of that, their celebration was chosen as a part of Style Me Pretty's March Madness competion and was crowned "Best Modern Wedding of All Time" by Style Me Pretty. Such an honor!!
