This editorial shoot was a really wonderful time for me! I had a great time collaborating with the talented group of vendors listed below. It was so hard to pick through all of the amazing images from Donny captured that day, but these are definitely my favorites.
I really enjoy collaborating with other creatives for editorial photo shoots. My favorite shoots take place outside, deep in the heart of nature, because I believe my florals look best among the lush green backdrop. My style of floral design is very earthy and organic, which seems to be complimented best with the great outdoors as its backdrop. :)
This shoot took place in a forest preserve, just outside of Chicago. We were inspired by all of the beautiful greenery and flowers that were popping up that time of year (Spring!). Simple, clean and understated florals made this shoot very unique. Sometimes a smaller bouquet, rather than a large, over sized one, makes all the difference. Peonies, dusty miller, scabiosa, garden roses and more were used in these designs.
I also created a rose and succulent bridal hairpiece, which still remains one of my favorite hair pieces of all time. I love how it curves against our models head for a natural look. It was a bit larger than most brides want, but you'd be surprised on the size of hairpieces. This one was fairly large, but really doesn't overpower our model's head at all. It was a true perfect fit for the look we were trying to achieve.
This editorial was also featured in Swooned Magazine, so make sure to check it out there!

In May, I was lucky enough to attend the Film & Flora Workshop hosted by Tinge Floral and Mike Radford. It was an amazing time and I left feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle anything. :) Here are a few of my favorite images from my time in Santa Barbara, CA with Tara Lynn Lawton Photography. More images to come from other photographers I worked with!

Spring and early Summer, one of my favorites when it comes to flower selection and natural beauty outdoors. Kristin La Voie Photography and I put together a small bridal shoot at Leroy Oakes, a lovely farm located just outside Chicago in St. Charles, IL. Grace, of Lee-Lim Collective, joined us with several of her beautiful gowns. If you haven't heard of Lee-Lim, you have been missing out. Grace is so talented and truly has an eye for design.
We wanted to keep this simple and focus on the flowers, the gown, and of course our beautiful red-headed bride. More often then not, simplicity wins.
Huge thanks to Wedding Sparrow for the feature today on their blog!
